Alignment: Peromei
Date of Entry: 10 Nov 2015
Canon: Undertale
Canon Point: No Mercy end
Alignment: Peromei
Date of Entry: 10 Nov 2015
Age: Skeleton; sounds and sometimes acts like an adult in at least mid-late 20s
Birthday: 31 March (headcanon, but also arbitrarily reassigned ingame)
Eye Color: White, usually - small points of light inside his eye sockets
Hair Color: Skeleton
Height: Slightly taller than a preteen human child, somewhere below 5'
Amulet: A very small, jagged lump of crystal that could easily be mistaken for any old shapeless bit of rock. Usually in his pocket, under his sleeve or otherwise out of sight. His original amulet - a round crystal set in what resembled the outline of a silvery goat skull - was almost always kept out of sight, and is now gone.
Appearance:
Profile: Application and headcanon history (major canon spoilers in both!)
Contact:
Background: Former citizen of a sealed-off kingdom of monsters dwelling just below the Earth's surface. At home he worked as a sentry, ostensibly patrolling a remote snowy forest for fallen humans but really just killing time. He's close to his brother, a more excitable skeleton of equally ambiguous age.
Personality: Despite his mischievous streak and overall laziness, a friendly and generous soul. Enjoys pranks, bad food, worse puns, car magazines and science fiction. His dedication to slacking off transcends time and space. Sees a lot, but rarely tells anyone anything.

First of all, the nature of Undertale means it's best to play the game knowing as little as possible. For anyone who wants one, here is a handy dandy little form to make it easy for you to opt out of game spoilers (or from threads with this character altogether).
Undertale is also pretty self-aware - characters can and will get up to all kinds of meta stuff in the name of comedy or plain messing with you. Sans in particular acknowledges things like stat screens, character kill counts and characters' time travel experience at various times, based almost entirely on body language and behavioural tells. If that sounds like something you might want to play with, go ahead and use this form too! If you'd rather not, I'll default to not using anything that isn't given in the thread itself, so don't worry too much about it.
Please don't feel like you're restricted to those forms, either! Let me know if you have any issues at all.

Spoilers? Y! I haven't played the no-mercy route myself because I'm a wuss, but I've watched a youtube video with the main differences which included the Bad Time, so I'm good here.
META PERMISSIONS
Metaphysics: Spoilers for Akatsuki no Yona: His body is immortal and can't get killed. He's been wounded to death countless times and he's tried to kill himself as well, but his body regenerates itself every time. It's not exactly resurrection per se because he stays alive, but maybe in video game logic Sans might see that ability kinda like his body returning to an inner savepoint by its own will or something like that, if he can perceive that and the weirdass high death count.
Characters' sins: As a warrior from a medieval Asian fantasy, he's killed and wounded a bunch of people in the past. He also lies and hides things a lot, but they're white lies.
Characters' UIs: His attack is low, his defense is probably infinite. These stats can change when triggered by something, but it's not something that can be seen. If Sans could see Zeno's "savefile"'s played time, he'll find millions of hours/billions of minutes total, or maybe an out of range error depending on the game's code. He's pretty old.

META PERMISSIONS
Character | Journal: Lu Meng |
Metaphysics: No
Characters' sins: CW: Torture. He's an army general so he's killed plenty of enemy soldiers in his original world and doesn't really feel any remorse for that. In Emp he was possessed by a ghost and forced to torture and kill other NPCs in gruesome fashion. He definitely feels a lot of guilt and remorse and angst about that.
Characters' UIs: Not sure if I'm understanding the Character UI properly, but if he could see it then Sans would be able to note that Lu Meng's KO counts racks up into the thousands due to the nature of Lu Meng's canon being a hack-and-slash game. Taking down every thousand enemies in the game will have other characters praise the player character for being a "True Warrior of the Three Kingdoms". Feel free for Sans to comment on it.

Character | Journal: Simon Jarrett |
Metaphysics: Spoilers for Soma, CW: Body Horror. A key theme of Soma is using technology to "live on" pass someone's point of death by scanning that person's brain and implanting that brain scan into a machine. Simon himself is a copy of the original Simon who died around a hundred years ago. The body he inhabits is actually a corpse of a woman that was reanimated through an advanced building material in Simon's world called "Structure Gel". The Structure Gel repaired the cells and the tissue in the body; technically, because the heart is beating and the blood is flowing, this body is "alive". Simon inhabits this body because a datachip with his brainscan has been slotted into a datareader that's been merged with the body through Structure Gel.
Characters' sins: CW: Euthanasia. He's accidentally killed two robots with human scans in them. He's also deliberately disconnected the power source for a few robots/humans and erased one brain scan to allow those robots/humans to rest in peace. And he's killed one robot deliberately for parts. Simon doesn't really have any tells, although he will be reluctant to disconnect machines or AIs. Also, he'd probably have a rather...unique viewpoint if anyone were to ask him about AIs and/or question him about what he is.
Characters' UIs: Spoilers in the link! Someone actually did a Soma-Undertale crossover fanart. It pretty much sums up Soma very well.

Spoilers? Totally fine with them!
META PERMISSIONS
Metaphysics: Does he ever have experience with this stuff... First off, his saves and reloads are literal too. His best friend can manipulate time, and if he dies or would die, said friend returns him to an earlier point in time (or just flat out resurrects him if it's safe, since resurrection temporarily wipes his memory). The shorter the amount of time reset, the more likely he is to remember. He's also kind of...divine? I have no idea if Sans would be able to sense that or what, but there's something weird going on with his soul for sure. He is also immortal (as in ageless). I'm not sure what tells he'd have for the resets, exactly, since it's never been on his own initiative, but he definitely does come across as older than he looks and carrying some ridiculously heavy emotional baggage. Speaking of...
Characters' sins: ...He has killed people in self defense, and in the course of his mission has taken initiative against people who were honestly doing what they thought was right, which includes fighting an old friend and breaking up a family (however dangerous that family may be).
Characters' UIs: His armor is his HP. And breaks off to show HP loss. Sans is absolutely free to comment on what a weird HP bar that makes for. He's like an inverted Bayonetta: he shows skin when he's getting the shit beaten out of him. Also there are battles that literally take place inside his soul, I'm sure something could be done/said about that somewhere.
If I leave out anything chances are I'll bring it up in-thread somewhere, but I will come back here if I remember something I forgot!
IDK why i'm doing this but just so you know

Spoilers? Y. I'm fully spoiled. So Ur good.
META PERMISSIONS
Character | Journal: SAME ONES NERD
Metaphysics: The crystal gems don't really die, when they're given fatal damage they poof into their gem shape and take a few days to reform. So uh, sort of yes sort of no to death.
Characters' sins: Steven is about as pure as pure can be, to be honest.
Do I really need to tell you the garbage Ed's done?
Characters' UIs: Anything you want to pick up on with Ed tbh you have full permissions with him
As for Steven, he's only half human for one but all of his abilities are based around defense and healing. His shield is for defending, so is the bubble he can make, and his spit (lmfao) can heal gems and humans alike.

Spoilers? Full pacifist clear, but only fairly broad strokes for genocide thus far because...internet.
META PERMISSIONS
Metaphysics: Err... no? Time travel actually does a bit of a part later but Emizel has no part in it. Multiple endings/new game +s do exist too but he either doesn't remember them or haven't experienced them yet. He's pretty well rooted in his world's reality when it comes to that.
Characters' sins: Other than being an insufferable brat, Emizel is as cinnamon roll as a demon could get really. But if going strictly by a death count uh, that might be a little hard. Almost all main character recruitment is done by beating them up, but they don't die. And if somebody is knocked out of battle they can still be healed up at the hospital. That only leaves the
exp meat grindersmooks that make up the other 95% that are never explained. Either way it probably won't look good when Emizel's level should be ridiculous going by his canon point, just barely breaking the cap of most normal RPGs and not even close to max yet.But he is pretty much shown to be reluctant and nervous about killing anyone too so, yeah I really don't know.
Characters' UIs: I could even give you full menu screens if you want to pick them apart. Yeah sure go ham on that.
